general information

Thank you for your interest in Hope Renewed International’s (HRI) Internship Program. Applications for Quarter 1 (January-March) and Quarter 2 (March-May) are due no later than September 15 of the previous year. Application review, contact and interviews for internships in Quarter 1 and 2 will take place from September 15-October 14 and internships will be awarded on October 15. Applications for Quarter 2 (June-August) and Quarter 3 (September-December) are due no later than November 15 of the previous year. Application, review, contact and interviews for internships in Quarters 3 and 4 will take place from November 16-December 14 and internships will be awarded on December 15.

An Internship with Hope Renewed International will be greater than 4 weeks. An ideal internship time line is 6-12 weeks long. For an area of concentration, the intern will focus on the Mazatenango Girls Home of Hope, The Capital City (Hope Renewed Preschool, Scholarships of Hope, Hope Center), Mission Teams, or - at a future date - the Community of Hope in Santiago Atitlan.

  • Fluency in Spanish (conversing, reading, writing, understanding)

  • A willingness to prepare for the internship by completing all prerequisites (Read When Helping Hurts, Complete a Strengths Finder index, write up goals and commit to producible outcomes etc…)

  • Alignment with the Mission and Goals of HRI

  • Willingness to submit to the authority of HRI leadership
