Fighting Poverty in Guatemala - Service Through Faith With Hope Renewed

At Hope Renewed International, we believe that all Christians are called by God to serve His people, especially the poor,  by helping them to find their purpose, develop their talents and share the word of God. 

Hope Renewed has been called to serve in Guatemala. This Central American country is deeply impoverished, with 59% of Guatamalans living below the poverty line, according to the World Bank. We believe that by serving, equipping and empowering the communities where we are located, more Guatemalan people will come to know Christ and develop their God-given potential.

Reducing poverty in Guatemala requires a multifaceted approach. Education is essential for creating opportunities, developing talents, and strengthening communities. As such, we’ve devoted resources to creating educational opportunities for various ages. Our Zone 3 Preschool provides quality education for young children in an area of deep poverty within Guatemala City. Our school gives kids a needed refuge from some of the most difficult conditions in Guatemala. An added benefit of operating from the preschool near the Guatemala City Dump is that it has given us a base to provide other services to families and communities in the area. We’re always looking for partners to come alongside these families.  There are many ways you can help!

Hope Renewed also provides educational opportunities for older kids and adults. Our scholarship program is designed to give driven students the resources they need to attain their goals. Scholarship money can be used on school supplies for elementary students, or can be used to sponsor high school students or adults so they can remain in or return to school. These sponsorships are merit-based and give students incentives to reach their educational goals. We believe that by helping educate these students, they will become empowered to create new opportunities for themselves and set examples for those in their communities.
