Why do you support HRI?
My wife and I have seen the need in Guatemala and know several children adopted out of the country...we love them. We also love and respect the Powell’s and wanted to work with them in their ministry.
Isn't there plenty of need in our own country?
There are needs everywhere but the "poor" (with very few exceptions) in our country have places to live, cell phones, cable tv, food stamps, a myriad of government programs. The poor in Guatemala have nothing...especially hope. We see the ministry of Hope Renewed as a very tangible way to bring hope - hope through the love of Jesus and the truth of His gospel.
The need is so great - do you really feel any amount of money/support sent to Guatemala can make a difference?
If we let the scope of the need keep us from doing what we ought (in any endeavor) we will never begin. Besides, we serve the King of the universe who can do all things. Who are we to limit His power?!
